About

"I that am not so nimble."
                    -Dorothy Osborne

nimble is an independent, bimonthly, web-based literary journal dedicated to publishing flash fiction, short poetry, one act plays and artwork.  Our mission is simple: showcase brilliance.*  As Mark Twain famously wrote, "To get the right word in the right place is a rare achievement. To condense the diffused light of a page of thought into the luminous flash of a single sentence, is worthy to rank as a prize composition just by itself..."  In the spirit of the luminous flash, we celebrate the nimble few.

* Brilliance is a subjective idea, and we understand that what we deem brilliant may not readily fit into all our reader's definition of the term.  It is our constant goal, however, to try and publish only the very best work.  Writing that has clearly been tooled and shaped and crafted to tell a story will always be brilliant to us, and will always find a home here at nimble.
